Now run by Terry and Andy, The Bay Horse Inn, is set in the pretty village of Winteringham. The food is home made, locally sourced and served in the large separate dining area with its own patio area and bar. There are 3 en suite rooms from just £35 and there is ample parking.

A quintessential English pub that is a throwback to days of ‘real’ pubs! Expertly run by Sally Smaller who really joins with and supports the local community. She serves good beer as well as authentic pizzas and puts on a whole host of entertainment, including many well supported charity events. She offers karaoke, a variety of bands and discos, including one especially for children. A good all round venue for the whole family.

John & Elaine have vastly improved both the food and the atmosphere since they have taken over! The excellent ales include Greene King IPA and the food is superb with diverse, home cooked dishes from Steak & Ale Pie, to Seabass and a host of other fresh seafood options. Everyone is welcomed from walkers and boaters to pets! The Sunday carvery is wonderful and just too good to be missed.

The Nags Head, now run by Mark and Sharon, is a breath of fresh air with a new bistro style with tasty dishes such as Beef Wellington and rissotto. This C17th pub has been beautifully refurbished by Gavin Richards to include 3 en suite rooms. He serves a lovely, home made menu, utilising local produce, like pork in a creamy apple sauce, and caters for all functions. Live music, karaoke, a quiz on Wednesday and chilli nights the last Thursday in the month.

Nadine Simpson has succeeded in balancing a friendly approach with high quality and efficient service. The food is consistently good, with highlights like Salmon Fishcakes and the delightfully named Lemon Lovecake as well as excellent freshly ground coffee. Enjoy the newly opened and sheltered al fresco area too.
