This C17th free house has won numerous awards, including the ‘Bookers Best Pub In UK 2000’ and ‘Vegetarian Pub of the year 2001’. A host of vegetarian dishes plus plenty of choice for meat eaters. 5 real ales and a nice variety of Old and New World wine. Very high standards in all areas, you won’t be disappointed.

Nicola Grundy and Pat Thompson have beautifully restored this old English pub/restaurant and have retained all its original features. The 4 well kept real ales include 2 guests which are regularly changed and there are several delicious menus to choose from. Excellent theme evenings and a lovely garden too.

A fantastic free house run by Roz and her dedicated team. They serve great real ales and quality pub food with many seasonal favourites, all in a cosy atmosphere, what more could you want? The beers include Highwayman, Marlow Rebellion and a guest and there’s also a brilliant local Suffolk cider. There are many highlights on the menu, with lots of pub favourites like Steak & Kidney Pie, but the real treat is the seasonal Game. A good venue for the whole family, this is also an excellent function venue.

Chef/owner, Sandra Lloyd has had great success at this charming seventeenth century eatery which has won many plaudits. She concentrates on utilising fresh, local produce and serves a variety of wonderfully cooked dishes from the freshest of Fish & Chips and Local Sausage & Mash to the more subtle Pan Fried Calves Liver with a rich Port Wine Gravy. Well worth a visit!
