Now run by Catering Executive, Tim Wainwright-Noble, this light and airy restaurant serves top quality, home cooked, traditional English food, with a twist. Pensioner’s Special on Tuesdays with selected dishes for just £3.95 and a wonderful Sunday lunch for only £7.50. Al fresco dining in summer.

This C17th free house has won numerous awards, including the ‘Bookers Best Pub In UK 2000’ and ‘Vegetarian Pub of the year 2001’. A host of vegetarian dishes plus plenty of choice for meat eaters. 5 real ales and a nice variety of Old and New World wine. Very high standards in all areas, you won’t be disappointed.

Nicola Grundy and Pat Thompson have beautifully restored this old English pub/restaurant and have retained all its original features. The 4 well kept real ales include 2 guests which are regularly changed and there are several delicious menus to choose from. Excellent theme evenings and a lovely garden too.

A proper old fashioned pub with an extensive choice of wines and no less than 57 malt whiskies! There are also good ranges of rums, brandies, gins and 3 changing micro brews. The food is a delight and very innovative; try the Salmon with Crushed New Potatoes and Creamy Mustard Sauce or perhaps Beef with Tomato Rosti, you won’t be disappointed!

Chef/owner, Sandra Lloyd has had great success at this charming seventeenth century eatery which has won many plaudits. She concentrates on utilising fresh, local produce and serves a variety of wonderfully cooked dishes from the freshest of Fish & Chips and Local Sausage & Mash to the more subtle Pan Fried Calves Liver with a rich Port Wine Gravy. Well worth a visit!
