The highly experienced Anthony has run bars all over the world and he has already made a big impression at this lovely village venue. A large, grade II listed pub that conveniently has a spacious car park, Anthony describes The Compasses ‘as a drinkers pub that serves a little food’. The beers are well kept and include Eagle IPA, Bombardier and Winter Warmer and the food is quite varied, with Toasties, Curries, Bangers & Mash and a particularly nice Spicy Spaghetti Bolognaise. The regular entertainment features a quiz, discos and interesting local bands. All in all an excellent ‘locals’ local’.
